| Hello! I'm feeling very newsy. You may not know this word, as it has never existed previously in the English language that I'm aware of, but nonetheless, seems to be applicable to my curernt state. Just like that old TV show, "Just the facts, ma'am." News.... 1. We'll be offering stevia as an alternative sweetener at the shop starting this weekend. While we will offer it for free as part of your coffee or tea purchase, we probably won't be setting it out on the bar with the other sweeteners, 'cause it's wildly expensive. This is so when people come in and fill their pockets with sugar packets (yes, that does happen!), they won't be stealing stevia and making me sorta cranky. It's a preemptive mood enhancement technique for me. :) 2. We're working on a new website. Woot! Like everything else at Hi Point, it's not totally done yet, but it's certainly on its way. Anyway, at the site, you can upload your own Hi Point photos, which is really kinda cool and I'd love to see some of your shots popping up there! :) www.hipointcoffee.com http://s1076.photobucket.com/profile/hipointcoffee/index 3. In other news, we were considering doing a school supply donation but it has its complications. So, one of our wonderful customers, Lory, told me that Wal-Mart is gathering donations for supplies. Supplies can get so very expensive for families, so this would be a nice way to help your community. Just a thought. :) 4. With the new kitchen space, which is palatial, we're starting up some catering. Wow! We already are catering two large parties in September, which is very exciting! If you're thinking that you'd like to host an event at Hi Point or have us help you with an event at your own location, let me know! We're also going to be looking for people who may wish to rent kitchen space for their own catering/baking endeavors. If you know someone or are someone who needs to rent commercial space, please send me an email at sarah@hipointcoffee.com. And I'm out of news, so this is Sarah Toney signing off with your Hi Point Coffee and Cafe news report. Good night (day, afternoon, whatever) and good luck. haha! :) Sarah |

New Word of the Day Game!
Words of last week...
spoonerism, beguile, compeer, billet doux, vicinage, pillory, pelagic
Our winner has chosen to remain anonymous, which is always an option if you want to submit, but are feeling a touch shy.
Here's the winning submission!
"He felt his pelagic love swell with tidal force as she strolled through the square. Her vicinage consumed his senses; her beguiling perfume, her tickling laugh. He imagined yet again how he would seduce her with an exquisite billet doux. He saw himself serving as her most trusted compeer as they lay exhausted in her laced beaudoir. This time as she passed, she turned toward him and grasping the moment, he exclaimed, "It's sovely to lee you again!" He froze in horror of the ill-timed spoonerism and her derisive laughter left him pilloried where he stood, shaken and humiliated."
So, just to remind you, this is how this works. We post the word of the day every day from dictionary.com in the shop. We'll be sending out in this newsletter the list of the 7 words from the previous week. Then, you can write a max of 200 word narrative (or anything you want) that contains all seven words of the day, used properly, of course. The winning selection will be published in this newsletter and the winning author gets a free cup o' joe!
You can email your submissions to mesarah@hipointcoffee.com. I'm not the judge, becuase I am a contestant. Our glamorous and wonderful customer, Carol Ann is selecting the weekly winner. She is most qualified as a retired teacher as well as an author. Thanks, Carol Ann! :)
Here's your words for the week...
natty, fallow, gibbous, belletristic, phthisis, maquette, nomothetic
