Hi Point NEWS!

Hi Point Newsletter
5.2.12
What up!?

I'm assuming if you're reading this, you have not been blown off the face of the planet. Congratulations! :) I know spring is windy here in Reno-land, but seriously, I've given up on my hair being in any sort of style. We all know I have a loose attachment to that to begin with, but I've given up, is all I can say. Hope your hairs are coping better than mine!

In super serious news...
I've switched up our wine service a bit and we have Icky in bottles, now, too! And a new totally natural root beer that is extra delicious and full of herbs. You could call is medicinal, really. :) We also have a couple new white wines in and have started serving a house red and house white for $4 per jelly jar (6oz pour). It's definitely drinkable (even for me and my staff with all our snobbish-ness!), especially given the price. The white is a little sweet so it's absolutely perfect for Lemon Pellegrino Spritzers, which we serving now for $5.

In other news, have you decided on mom's special day yet? It really is time to start planning Mother's Day! Or for you moms, out there, how about this? You can start laying hints about what a lovely brunch Hi Point happens to have for May 13th. You can pretend that you don't know it's Mother's Day. Just that it sounds delicious and wouldn't that be nice to do on the 13th. haha!

Well, guys....I think that is all I'm willing to share at the moment. We have plans in the mix, but it's just not ready for the sharing yet, so stay tuned!

PS
We need sponsors for our dodgeball teams! More info below, but I want to make sure you see this. Sponsor a player for $60 and we'll "sponsor" any drink you want on the house to thank you for supporting a local family! And we wanna play dodgeball in groovy costumes, of course. :)

Qigong at Hi Point!
April May 3rd, 6pm
Kristin Manning from Happy Heart Qigong in Reno is starting a donation only group class for everyone, including children to the elderly or impaired. And, you don't have to know what you're doing, so don't worry about being clueless. I'm clueless, except that I've heard good things about Qigong and its use in improving health, overall energy, and self transformation. Uber cool.

Billy Mickelson
Tuesday May 22nd, 1pm
Lunch Concert! How fun is that? Tuesday afternoon should mean work and obligation. But not this time. You need to be at Hi Point to hear Billy's amazing cello!

Community News!

OK, folks...it's time to fundraise for our dodgeball teams. We have a couple teams forming to play in the tournament to support this child's development. BUT, the problem is we need some money to enter! So, if you'd like to support Lila, we're asking for $60 to sponsor a player. Some of our teammates are great athletes and so I've asked them to participate, but they don't necessarily have the fundage to help with the money part. Can you help? I'm gathering the money, so bring us your donation and we'll be glad to "sponsor" your choice of latte, frappe, coffee or even your choice of beers for those over 21!

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, here's the overview of the problem...
We have a super cool family who needs your help! Their daughter Lila has cerebral palsy and is 6 years old. She's making great strides in her development with the help of recent breakthrough therapies. Of course, it's not covered by insurance so they're hosting the most awesome fundraiser. A dodgeball tournament at McQueen! Teams of 6-8 are gathering for the registration fee of $240. Prizes for 1,2 and 3 places, plus a prize for the best costumes! We're putting together a team and we're going to be called the "Caffeinaters"! haha! We have a few spots on our team, so if you'd like to participate, email me! sarah@hipointcoffee.com
Tournament is May 19th, 9am - 3pm

Record Street
