Hello, one and all! Is anyone besides me looking forward to the rain this weekend with total glee in their hearts?! I'm hoping it's cold enough on Sunday to "turn on" the fireplace and play autumn, 'cause you know summer's not over. It's just a little taste of the glorious fall to come so let's get out the sweaters, drink hot chocolate and start thinking about pumpkins, football and the inevitable holidays! OK, maybe a little ahead of myself, but I'm sure more than one of you gets where I'm coming from. :)
News update on the beer/wine license. No movement in the city yet...at all. :( We have to get approval from all the same departments as when you open a business, but we have yet to clear even zoning. No time to panic, yet, but I do wish I knew how to help this along since Sept 10th is not far away. (Sept 10th is the earliest possible day for a provisional license.) However, this won't slow our planning! No way, because planning involves wine tasting with a purpose and that is always a good thing. Hopefully this time next week I'll have better news on approvals from the city. Stay tuned!
Thank you so much to everyone who has given me their two cents on what to serve and, as always, I welcome your comments/questions on any other issues.
Have a wonderful weekend and I hope to see you especially on Sunday. I'm super excited about the ginger ice cream with warm banana caramel sauce. Oh, boy!
Cheers!

Book Club Selection New book club selection is Spice: The History of Temptation. It's about spices and how the mania for attaining spices in Europe made huge impacts on our history and shaping our world. Summer's over, time to get scholarly! ;) It sounds fascinating and if it's about food, I'm in. I hope you join us in reading our next book club selection.
