| Happy New Year, all! I've been pondering the New Year today and looking forward to 2012. 2011 feels so fast that to look back on the year reminds me of the old days when we looked through microfiche records in the library. Remember when there was a world before google? Oh dear, I date myself. Well, the holiday season as always, was fast and furious. I'm looking forward to 2012 and the relative peace of January to get settled into the New Year. Most years, I don't take the time to stop and think. Just keep plowing ahead, but this year I think I will set some intentions for resolutions and what I'd like to do in the coming year. This last year went so very quickly that I'm thinking I'd better stop and gather myself before the whirlwind whips me away again and before I blink my eyes, I'm writing a note to y'all on New Year's Eve again! I wish you the best on this holiday eve. I know for many in Reno, 2011 has not been easy. Our little town has had so much tragedy this year, let us stop for a moment and be grateful for the generous community in which we live. And then let us go out and celebrate for all the joy that is to come in 2012! Happy New Year to you all and I hope to see you soon! Love to you and yours! Sarah |
| Sunday Breakfast Special Served Sunday 9am - 4pm Hangover food is a very important thing on New Year's Day and so I've done a touch of homework on the subject. Apparently acetaldehyde is the chemical by-product of alcohol that makes you feel so very bad and the amino acid cysteine helps acetaldehyde become non-toxic and move on the through system. So, very important to eat cysteine rich foods that day to provide a truly healing tonic to the body. Thankfully cysteine is in lots of things we like to eat for breakfast! So, here's your cysteine-rich hangover breakfast of champions! All things marked with an * are packed full of cysteine. Roasted veggie scramble*** served with roasted potatoes*, bacon and a side of fresh homemade granola* with yogurt* and bananas*. and... Just in case that's not sounding good to your unhappy body, we'll also be serving sweet potato pancakes with cinnamon butter. No scientific reasoning there. Just thought it sounds awesome! |
| Music at Hi Point Once again, there's a shuffling in the music cards at Hi Point. Randal Wilder, who's done a great job of bringing exceptional musicians to Hi Point, has decided to move on to other venues. He's still in town, if you know Randal. Nothing catastrophic has happened! :) So, next time you ask me about upcoming music events, I may have a blank look on my face for the next week or two. More blank than usual, anyway. ;) We have a few events already lined up for January, though, which I'll be telling you about next week. And then we'll see what the New Year brings! Stay tuned! |

Yoga Class at Hi Point! Monday, January 2nd 5:30pm - 6:45pm Wednesday, January 4th 5:30pm - 6:45pm Yoga Monday and Wednesday nights. Bring your mat! Class is a $7 donation to Jelena. jelenahardy@gmail.com or 530.321.2886 Jelena's style of yoga is a dynamic flowing practice that allows the internal movement of the breath to carry the external movement of the body. As the life force (prana) is intensified and stilled, the physical practice becomes a dynamic form of meditation. Challenging the body and mind to find a balance between effort and receptivity imbues the physical practice with lightness and grace and maximizes one's power of conscious manifestation. This process of self-realization and unity with the divine is the essence of yoga. |
