Hello, all!  Wow, has Winter ever returned today! I intellectually knew it would, but I have to admit, I was losing the faith. I love this fluffy, white gift from the skies! Woot! Unfortunately, it's total murder on business, but that's the price to pay for so much beauty. I'll take it, but not too much. :) That's the joy of Reno, is it not? Little snow, but lots more sun. Well, I've been a little under the weather this week. If you haven't seen my face, it's because it's been connected to the body that's been adhered to the couch or snuggled in bed. I lost a couple days, but now I'm getting back into the swing and wondering how it could possibly be so late in the week already. Yikes! Well, here's the goodies of the weekend... Open Mic on Friday! Saturday night dinner special Saturday night music with the Willows! Sunday Brunch Sunday book club New wines and beers to be tried! And, of course, new goodies to savor Thanks to Blarney for an absolutely wonderful show last Saturday. It's a pure joy to have such great musicians come to play and energize our little cafe. I'm looking forward to hearing the Willows this weekend, of whom I have heard tremendous things. Come check it out! Hope all is well in your world, and I hope to see you soon! Sarah Saturday Specials A few special things for Saturday and Sunday. Saturday Night Dinner Special We'll be serving a baked penne pasta with turkey meatballs in a homemade tomato cream sauce. It's delicious! We'll be serving with garlic focaccia and salad. Floats, floats, floats! For those who missed out on the chocolate ice cream floats last weekend, we'll keep serving them this weekend. And they're so good, I may just keep it around. We'll see what you think!  Here's the options... A chocolate float made with a stout beer. The chocolate ice cream is made from scratch and served with our Jamaican stout, whipped cream and homemade chocolate sauce! Second, a Lindeman's Framboise and chocolate ice cream float. And, finally a vanilla creme float with chocolate ice cream! Sunday Brunch I really enjoyed the Cowboy breakfast pie last wee and I wasn't the only one, so we're gonna do another breakfast pie. This time, Creole style! Sunday Menu... Creole breakfast pie with linguica sausage and jack cheese served with a side of roasted potato and veggie hash and fresh biscuits and homemade strawberry freezer jam Saturday Music! The Willows    The Willows is a co-project of Mig and Collin Ross. Collin is a well known musician and composer in Reno, who plays a "large and ever-shifting repertoire of original music, jazz standards and blues classics." Mig is bringing her beautiful voice to the mix to create an exciting musical experience. We're very pleased to welcome them to Hi Point this Saturday, 7pm.
