Summer's in full swing and I'm so looking forward to our first thunderstorm tonight! Maybe?? Might get lucky! :)
Anyway, there's some general housekeeping news to share. We have some hours changing and a couple prices hikes here and there, though I did my best to keep it reasonable. The new hours are 6am - 4pm, except for Friday's when we close at 8pm for the open mic. The changes came from a rather surprising hike in minimum wage, which is great for my staff, but not good for the ol' bank account. So, we're making some quick changes. Thank you so much to everyone for your understanding and support this week!
Thanks, y'all!
Sarah
PS Our lovely and wonderful barista, Ashlyn, is working her last day tomorrow morning before heading off to Australia for student teaching. Please come wish her well!
PPS A had a suggestion today of doing a Saturday night special supper. I think this would be fun, especially once I get going on the beer/wine license. What do you think? Drop me a line and let me know if you think this would be a good idea or not. Thanks for all your feedback! |

Book Club Selection
Now I'm half way through our book club selection, The Leisure Seekers by Michael Zadoorian, and I've already had to wipe away a tear multiple times. What a totally sweet book!
amazon link to the book It's the story of an elderly couple's "last honeymoon", as they travel across country. Very touching and funny, as all great novels are, it seems. Our meeting will be Sunday July 17th at 2pm. Get your copy and start reading! |
Bike Ride Monday 10am
My normal Monday morning bike companion has been busy and there's been no one to join me, which of course means I'm not riding my bike. I apparently can't find the motivation to ride alone, so if you're tempted, please join me so I actually get some exercise! :)
